King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain will embark on a historic state trip to the Netherlands to strengthen ties between the two countries and their royal houses.
This important diplomatic meeting, which will take place from April 16-18, promises to be a highlight on the Spanish royal agenda.

During their stay, the Spanish monarchs will have the opportunity to meet with their Dutch counterparts, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, to discuss issues of mutual interest.
Before the official reception, the King and Queen of Spain will meet with the Spanish community residing in the country.
Welcome at Dam Square: The official visit will begin on April 17 with a welcoming ceremony at Dam Square in Amsterdam.
There, in the presence of the King and Queen of Spain and the King and Queen of the Netherlands, a review of the troops will take place, followed by the national anthems of both countries and a brief parade.
Green hydrogen and culture: Queens Máxima and Letizia will have free time while Philip and Willem of the Netherlands visit the Cruyff Foundation.
A foundation whose mission is to give children with disabilities or from disadvantaged neighborhoods the space to develop through sport and play.
At the same time, in the port of Amsterdam, they will learn more about the green corridor that will be formed between Amsterdam and Bilbao.
Gala dinner: On the same evening, the awaited gala dinner will take place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam, which will be attended for the first time by Crown Princess Amalia.

Cybersecurity and mental health: The following day, kings and queens will part ways for a few hours.
William and Philip will chair a meeting of Spanish and Dutch companies in the cybersecurity and fintech sectors in The Hague.
For their part, Letizia and Máxima will visit Lab6, a meeting place dedicated to mental health where sports-related activities are organized for and by young people between the ages of 12 and 23 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West.
Later, the two queens will attend the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Amsterdam Spanish Film Festival at the Royal Tuschinski Theater.
For his part, Felipe VI will meet with the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and at noon he will have lunch with Deputy Prime Minister Jetten and the King at the Binnenhof.
This state trip is part of a long history of royal visits between Spain and the Netherlands.
Since their proclamation as King and Queen in 2014, Felipe VI and Letizia have made a total of sixteen official visits to various countries, including France, Mexico, Portugal, Japan, United Kingdom, Perú, Morocco, Argentina, South Korea, Cuba, Andorra, Sweden, Germany, Angola, and Denmark.
