Christmas is a special time for everyone, but especially for King Felipe and Queen Letizia, who this year will be able to enjoy the company of their two daughters, Leonor and Sofia, after several months of separation.
Both have been living away from the palace in recent months, due to their respective obligations.
While the Princess of Asturias has been at the Military Academy since mid-August, the Infanta Sofia is studying at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
What will King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s Christmas be like?
This season will be more special and, understandably, the King and Queen of Spain are looking forward to Christmas so they can see their two daughters and be together.
Although the Infanta Sofia is already on vacation and will return to Wales until January, Leonor continues with her military training and will only be present at Zarzuela until December 22.
In addition to sharing with their daughters, the kings and queens will have other Christmas engagements, such as the one that will take place on December 24, when Felipe will deliver the traditional Christmas Eve speech.
Although it is a mystery how they celebrate these dates, if we take into account what they have done in previous years, the Royal Family will probably spend Christmas Eve at the Zarzuela Palace and enjoy a dinner, which is also usually joined by the Queen’s mother Paloma Rocasolano and her sister Telma Ortiz.
On the morning of December 25, the King and Queen and their daughters will open the gifts left under the tree and the rest of the day will be spent with the family, enjoying the joy and love that characterize this time of the year.
