After a long wait, King Felipe and Queen Letizia are about to unveil their new official portraits. And best of all, the photos were taken by one of the most renowned photographers in the world, Annie Leibovitz.

Although the images were captured nine months ago, the date of their unveiling has finally been announced.

The long photo shoot took place at the Royal Palace in February, and during these months, few details have come to light, which has generated great expectation among the public.

More than a year ago, it was announced that Letizia and Felipe would put themselves in the hands of Annie Leibovitz for this photo shoot, following the example of other monarchs such as Queen Elizabeth II.

However, the wait has been long and has created some uncertainty about the outcome of this assignment.

Finally, the wait is over and the big reveal of the photos will be on Monday, November 25, at the Bank of Spain headquarters.

But that’s not all: the following day, on November 26, the photos will be exhibited to the public, allowing everyone to visit them until next year.

King Felipe has expressed his admiration for Leibovitz’s work, describing her as “a universal photographer,” highlighting the intensity and aesthetic sense that characterize her work.

In addition, the father of Princess Leonor has pointed out that the artist’s photographs become “a stunning spectacle, a sculptural image full of beauty.”

Photographer Annie Leibovitz was in charge of taking the photos.

Leibovitz is a master at capturing reality, and her goal is to make her works timeless.

Throughout her career, she has immortalized iconic figures at key moments in their lives, such as Pope Francis, John Lennon with Yoko Ono, the famous nude of pregnant Demi Moore, and, of course, Queen Elizabeth II.

In fact, the photograph she took of Elizabeth II on her 90th birthday is currently on display at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
