King Felipe and Queen Letizia are about to embark on a new adventure together. The royal couple is scheduled to take a state trip to Italy before Christmas, with stops in majestic Rome and vibrant Naples. Sounds exciting!
This trip will take place from December 10-12, from Tuesday through Thursday.
The news was recently announced by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s Trip to Italy
This official trip is not just a getaway, but a great opportunity to strengthen the deep ties that exist between Italy and Spain, which are historical, cultural, and human. Nothing like a good trip to remember the friendship between countries.
For the King and Queen, this will be their third official trip of the year. Previously, they toured the Netherlands in April and had an attempted visit to Jordan that did not go as planned, as King Felipe had to go alone due to instability in the region.
So, without a doubt, this new trip to Italy is a breath of fresh air and an excellent way to close the year.
The itinerary will start in Rome and, although not every detail of what they will do has been revealed, we already know that it will end in Naples with something special.
While in Naples, King Felipe will be honored with an honorary doctorate at the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the University of Naples Federico II. To add a special touch, the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, will be present at the ceremony.
In fact, this trip is nothing more than a response to Mattarella’s invitation to the royal couple in November 2021 to visit Italy officially. So you can already imagine the anticipation around this visit.
This new adventure to Italy represents not only a trip for the King and Queen, but also a further step in building strong relations between two friendly nations.
