A very special trip awaits King Felipe and Queen Letizia to close this first month of the year.
On January 27, the Spanish monarchs will head to Poland, where they will meet with King Charles and other royals, according to press reports.
Felipe and Letizia are planning to attend a very important event: they will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
The royal couple’s participation on this occasion highlights their commitment to historical memory and the fight against forgetting.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s trip to Poland
This is not a new event for Felipe and Letizia, as in 2020 they represented Spain at the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, a place that symbolizes the horror of the Nazi regime during World War II.
So far, King Charles has been confirmed to attend. According to reports by RoyalFamily.news, this trip will mark the British monarch’s first international outing in 2025.
Other royals are also expected to attend, including Willem-Alexander and Máxima of the Netherlands, Philippe and Mathilde of Belgium, and Frederik and Mary of Denmark.
Additionally, there will likely be representatives from the crowns of Sweden, Norway, and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
It will undoubtedly be a large gathering of dignitaries from different nations.
This event could bring together numerous international leaders and will be the most attended since the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, which, by the way, was not attended by any member of the Spanish crown.
It will be a significant and moving event that reflects the importance of remembering and honoring history.
