King Felipe and Queen Letizia have begun their holiday in Mallorca amid criticism and controversy over their choice of recreation.
The monarchs decided to rent a luxury yacht valued at more than 2500 dollars per day for their stay on the Spanish island.
This choice has been criticized for the high cost of renting the yacht, which has generated significant public debate.
The sustainable yacht is 15 meters long and was manufactured in Spain. The model of the yacht in question is the D50 Coupé, with three equipped cabins, two bathrooms, and a capacity to carry approximately 12 people.
Many people have expressed their indignation on social media at the monarchy’s failure to practice thrift and austerity while spending large sums of money on a luxurious holiday.
It is not known how many days the yacht will be at their disposal, but both Letizia and Felipe have spared no expense.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s vacations
Despite the controversy, King Felipe and Queen Letizia seem uninterested in criticism.
They have been out in public enjoying their time on the island. They were recently visiting the popular Alfabia Gardens in the company of their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
All in all, although there is criticism for their choice of accommodation, King Felipe and Queen Letizia seem to be enjoying their holidays in Mallorca.
For this year, the Queen wanted to do something different and opted to go on a boat again, something that King Felipe, who is passionate about marine sports, definitely likes.
A few days ago he was taking part in the “La Copa del Rey” regattas. The last time we saw the consort on a boat was in 2018.
