King Felipe of Spain, 55, took advantage of a few days off from his schedule of royal duties and went on a trip with some friends.
The head of state of the Iberian country has left Madrid for a trip with some close friends and without the presence of Queen Letizia.
King Felipe in Baqueira
According to Spanish media, the monarch traveled to the Aran Valley in Baqueira to practice his favorite sport: skiing. His stay will be for two days.
King Felipe will be skiing for two days and the plan is that he will spend the night there, although it has not been confirmed that he has chosen the house of La Pleta to stay. This royal residence became the center of controversy after Iñaki Urdangarin, ex-husband of the Infanta Cristina, was with his new girlfriend Ainhoa Armentia in the same place a few days ago.
It is not unusual for King Felipe to go skiing. In fact, only three weeks ago he traveled to Sierra Nevada with a group of friends, including his cousin Beltrán Gómez-Acebo. However, not often he visits Baqueira, the last time was in 2019.
The absence of Queen Letizia, 50, is due to the fact that she is not a big fan of this winter sport and has preferred to stay in Madrid with the Infanta Sofia, 15, and enjoy some outing with friends.
