Through a press release, the head of state clarified that he considered it “convenient and opportune” to speak publicly about his patrimony in order to be an example of “transparency, rectitude and integrity in his behavior”.
“His personal decision to make public his heritage guided by the spirit of service and civic commitment that he has been committed to since the first day of his reign,” reads part of the text.
How much is the net worth of King Felipe of Spain?
According to what has been published, the net worth of the Spanish king is 2,573,392 million euros, which are divided into 2,267,942.80 million in deposits in current or savings accounts and 305,450 in art objects, antiques and jewelry. Real estate or estates are not counted.
The father of Leonor and Sofia has received from the Budget of the King’s Household the total amount of 4,275,796.94 euros, income that he has received first as Prince of Asturias since 1998 and then as King since 2014.
“From these amounts, the withholding taxes and the amount of taxes paid over those 25 years must be deducted,” the statement said.
According to the document, the King has no real estate or assets abroad and that for now it is not stipulated to make public the assets of Queen Letizia.
Of the Queen’s assets it is known that her last private property, her maiden apartment, she sold it for 230,000 euros several months after the death of her sister Érika.
