Tuesday night in Stockholm marked a farewell filled with hugs and kisses.
Frederick and Mary of Denmark concluded their State visit to Sweden with a reception, thanking the Bernadotte family, led by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, who played hosts.
It was a final gathering that reunited the Danish queen with Swedish princesses Victoria and Sofia.
King Frederick and Queen Mary’s Farewell to Sweden
The Danish royals chose to end their trip with a meeting on the royal yacht Dannebrog.
The dress code was black suit for men and “something nice for the day” for women.
The Swedish sisters-in-law adhered to this dress code, each staying true to her style.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a floral dress, as did Mary, while Prince Carl Philip’s wife opted for a jumpsuit.
Victoria and Sofia were seen chatting animatedly as the event ended and they left the boat, showing the strong bond between them.
Initially, the Bernadotte clan was hesitant about Prince Carl Philip’s relationship with Sofia, but now she’s considered part of the family.
Similarly, there was evident camaraderie between the brothers-in-law, Carl Philip and Daniel, as Daniel affectionately put his arm around his wife’s brother, indicating closeness.
In a fashion coincidence, both Queen Mary and Crown Princess Victoria chose floral dresses for the evening, mirroring their morning attire.
Victoria wore a beautiful white dress with colorful floral prints in shades of orange, currant, green, and blue, while Mary opted for a burgundy silk dress with an intricate floral pattern and a romantic silhouette.
Adding to the style resemblance, both Mary and Victoria wore Gianvito Rossi pumps, while Mary accessorized with a white coat from Joseph and unique seashell-shaped earrings by Rebekka Notkin.
Sofia, on the other hand, opted for comfort in a white jumpsuit by Lilli Jahilo, paired with Gianvito Rossi platform heels and a gray clutch from Susan Szatmary.
This marked the end of the Danish State visit, highlighted not just by diplomatic engagements but also by remarkable fashion moments and displays of affection between the royal families.
