German businesswoman Corinna Larsen’s podcast sparked an uproar in the Spanish royal family. Although no member of the Bourbons has publicly pronounced on the subject, some close to those involved have revealed how King Juan Carlos I reacted.
Some of the people around the monarch confirmed that they listened to the podcast and revealed how the emeritus feels about the latest revelations of the woman who for years had a clandestine affair with the king and whom she came to describe as “her husband”.

According to the Spanish portal Vanitatis, those close to Juan Carlos assured that the emeritus is not upset by the details that Larsen has aired. They consider that “she is desperate, she has no more bullets left in the chamber, she has nothing left to say or invent”.
King Philip’s father is also not unconcerned by the legal battle over his ex-partner’s harassment lawsuit in a London court. “He sees it as won, like all of us, this case has no course.”
They point out that the things Larsen has said are not new and that it is something he has repeated on other occasions.
“Almost everything he is telling in the podcast is the same thing he has told so many times,” they add, “in the courts, in the thousands of interviews he has given…”.
They confess that the only interview that affected the emeritus was the one given by his examiner to ‘Paris Match’, where he also published intimate photographs of the two of them.
