King Emeritus Juan Carlos of Spain has travelled to England to take part in the World Sailing Championship, which has already begun on the Isle of Wight.
Over the past few months, the retired king has lost around 20 kilos thanks to a fitness programme at his Abu Dhabi residence.
With a slimmer appearance, the King Emeritus is ready to embark on a new adventure at sea and seek his third world title, having previously won in Canada in 2017 and Finland in 2019.

Now 85 years old, the retired king has been preparing for another victory in the regatta that took place in Spain at the end of July.
During the competition, his boat named ‘Bribón’ secured first place after two days of racing.
King Juan Carlos did not travel alone to the competition, as his daughter, Infanta Elena, was also present at the event.
Several Spanish media highlighted the good relationship between the two.

Despite the King Emeritus’ exile in Abu Dhabi since 2020, the Infanta Elena has always been his greatest support, overcoming the physical distance between them.
