James, Earl of Wessex By Lillian Torres

Prince William’s big plans for cousins Lady Louise and James, Earl of Wessex

Although King Charles’ plans include having a reduced monarchy, Prince William may have other ideas in mind, especially when it comes to the members who work directly for the crown.

As William assumes a more prominent role within the royal family, he faces the challenge of convincing two of his cousins to come on board with his vision.

William is said to be putting his stamp on the future of the monarchy, which begs the question: Will Lady Louise and James, Earl of Wessex, join the team?

Will Lady Louise and James Wessex work for the monarchy?

William may be considering giving more prominence to lesser-known members of the royal family, such as the children of Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.

As we have reported here at RoyalFamily.news, so far, Louise, 21, has kept a low profile, focusing on her studies at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

She and her brother James, 17, were offered the title of Her Royal Highness at a young age, but their parents decided it was best for them to have a more “normal” childhood.

Recently, the Scottish Daily Express has reported that William is considering the possibility of Louise and James becoming active members of the monarchy.

If they accept, they would begin to receive public funding, which would involve participating in events and engagements to represent the Crown.

Although this is not yet confirmed, it would be a way to relieve some of the pressure felt by the royal family, especially after Harry and Meghan’s departure five years ago.

When Louise turned 18, she was again offered the chance to become a princess but decided to turn it down.

For his part, it is believed that James, who will turn 18 in December 2025, could follow the same path as his sister.

Their parents have always emphasized them having as normal a childhood as possible, and in 2020, the Duchess of Edinburgh mentioned that they would probably have to work for a living.

So, as William takes on more responsibilities, it will be interesting to see if Lady Louise and James decide to join the monarchy and how that might change the royal landscape in the future. Only time will tell.
