Lady Sarah Rose Hanbury, born on March 15, 1984, celebrated her 40th birthday wrapped in a royal scandal.
Also known as Rose Cholmondeley, Marchioness of Cholmondeley, her figure is once again tarnished in the midst of a credibility crisis at Kensington Palace.
Conspiracy theory: Lady Sarah Rose Hanbury
The secrecy surrounding the health of Kate Middleton and then the scandal of the manipulated photo of the Princess of Wales has unleashed all kinds of conspiracy theories that seek to answer the strange attitude of the Palace.
In one of these theories, the name of Rose Hanbury appears, as she is accused of being the alleged mistress of Prince William, and the reason for the disappearance of Kate Middleton.
In social networks, many users put on the table the idea of divorce between Prince William and Kate Middleton as in another theory claim that Kate has not been seen because she suffered a mental breakdown and subsequent depression when she learned that her husband was having an extramarital affair.
The streets are saying Kate had a nervous breakdown during Xmas bc she found out Will’s mistress, Rose Hanbury, is pregnant with his child and she’s keeping it. Kate is now refusing to cooperate. The gossip is sucking me in & I don’t even care about these ppl.

After Prince William & Kensington Palace literally threw a "sickly" Kate Middleton under the bus before the global world, naturally #RoseHanbury would become a topic on interest globally. Kate would be very foolish to remain with him. #KateGate #WilliamIsaLiar #KateMiddleton pic.twitter.com/sHST3sOBjS

What many people are unaware of is that rumors of William and Rose’s alleged romance have been circulating since 2019.
Prince William is said to have started his affair with Rose Hanbury when Kate was pregnant with his last child, Prince Louis, in 2018.
The bombshell exploded in 2019, when British newspaper The Sun published an article titled “Royal Rival: Kate Middleton has fall-out with glamorous best friend and tells Prince William to ‘phase her out,’ “.
This article, which was removed from the website, alleged that Kate Middleton had ended her friendship with Lady Rose, her neighbor in Norfolk, for unspecified reasons, and had ordered her husband to exclude her from his social circle.
Why was The Sun article removed? The answer is that, days later, the Daily Mail’s veteran royal reporter, Richard Kay, debunked The Sun article, praising Prince William and denying any disagreement between Kate and Rose.
Despite this, speculation about William and Rose’s affair spread on social media and among aristocratic circles.
Another theory suggests that it was “Rose Hanbury herself who may have manipulated the situation to damage Kate Middleton’s public image.”
Following the article in The Sun, “Rose would have been enraged” by her alleged exclusion from Kate and William’s social circle, and “decided to take revenge” by revealing details about the alleged extramarital affair.
Rose Hanbuy and Prince William in 2023
At the beginning of 2023, rumors spread that the son of King Charles and his wife, Kate Middleton, were growing apart.
Rumors of infidelity increased when Kate herself assured, during one of her royal duties, that she was not expecting any details from William for Valentine’s Day.
“I don’t think he will do,” the princess replied to a florist who asked if William would buy her flowers, this happened during her official visit to Leeds Kirkgate market.
Then, a U.S. portal claimed that Prince William spent Valentine’s Day with his mistress.
According to the alleged reports, the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner alone.
William and Rose were allegedly spotted at a fancy Italian restaurant in London.
According to a worker at the restaurant, Prince William gave Rose a swanky pearl necklace for Valentine’s Day.
Adding to these rumors were alleged photos of Prince William and Rose Hanbury kissing at a nightclub.
Despite reaching monumental proportions outside the UK, Prince William’s alleged affair has reportedly not escalated in the British press.
The Spanish press claims that there were reports from the British media. They claim that on February 18, 2023, the MailOnline, The Mirror and The Sun reported that the heir had celebrated Love Day with his alleged mistress, but that within days it had all disappeared from the internet.
The mysterious disappearance of media coverage of Prince William’s alleged infidelity has been attributed to the ‘super injunction‘ by the British monarchy, leading to speculation about possible royal interference in press freedom.
Recently, however, the British media have started talking about Rose Hambury again.
Rose Cholmondeley’s resurgence in the British press
Without echoing William and Rose’s alleged romance, as there is no confirmation about it, some British media have joined the topic of the moment.
The Indipendent, for example, published an extensive report on Rose Hanbury, focusing on praising her lifestyle, her connections with the monarchy without mentioning the rumor of her alleged relationship with Prince William.
The Stadard, also recently published an article by Rose Hanbury on the extravagant life of “Kate Middleton’s party friend.”
Another British portal, The Tab, also published a note but to clarify how ‘Marchioness of Cholmondeley’ was pronounced.
For many online users, this innocent resurgence of Prince William’s alleged mistress in the British press has a backstory, even though Hanbury was never a stranger to England or Buckingham.
Beyond her marriage to the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley, the former model was the granddaughter of Lady Elizabeth Longman, Queen Elizabeth II’s playmate and maid of honor at her wedding to the Duke of Edinburgh.
But the controversy surrounding the photo that Kate allegedly edited, has fueled theories and conspiracies that leaves the image of Prince William questioned and puts back in the headlines the figure of Rose Hanbury.
