The kings of the United Kingdom, Charles III, and Queen Camilla, will be making their first official trip to Spain this 2024, according to the Spanish website Monarquía Confidencial.

This visit would take on special importance as it would be the first of the new British monarchs after the death of Elizabeth II in September 2022.

In addition, it would be the ideal occasion to see Princess Leonor for the first time with a tiara and long dress during the gala dinner to be offered by King Felipe and Queen Letizia in her honor.

The royal visit will take place in late January or early February, as confirmed by sources close to the Spanish Royal House.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be received by Their Majesties Felipe and Letizia during several days full of institutional acts and bilateral meetings.

One of the most anticipated moments will be the gala dinner at the Royal Palace in Madrid, where Princess Leonor will wear for the first time in an official act a long gala dress and tiara, like her mother.

At the age of 18, the heir to the throne is gradually assuming more responsibilities within the monarchy, after taking the oath of the Constitution on October 31.

The choice of dress and tiara for the evening will be an event that will capture the media’s attention.

There is speculation that Leonor could choose the Princess tiara, a gift from King Felipe to Letizia, a direct inheritance from her mother, the emeritus Queen Sofia. The Princess tiara is a piece that is made up of diamonds and pearls.

Relations between the Spanish and British royal houses are very close. Last May 2023, Charles and Camilla received King Felipe and Queen Letizia at Buckingham Palace, during a reception prior to Charles’ coronation.

Now it will be up to Spain to return the invitation with a careful visit that will serve to stage the friendship between the two countries.
