The day at the Olympic Games in Paris has been intense and exciting for Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
Following the plan of their father, King Felipe VI, for the royal family to be present at various events, the princesses have supported the Spanish team in different disciplines.
The heiress and her sister have been in the French capital since last Saturday for the expected doubles match of Nadal and Alcaraz, and this Tuesday they have lived another day in Paris.
Leonor and Sofia at the Table Tennis Match
Early in the morning, Leonor and Sofia attended the round of 16 table tennis match between Alvaro Robles and Brazil’s Hugo Calderano.
Although the Spaniard lost to the world number 6, he put up a great fight that kept the princesses on the edge of their seats.
At the end, the sisters personally greeted the Spanish player, who thanked them for their presence and their words of encouragement.
The day’s agenda included other competitions, the details of which are not yet known, as the princesses’ activities at the Olympic Games do not follow a fixed schedule.
After their commitments in Paris, Leonor and Sofia will return to Palma de Mallorca for a vacation.
Their parents have been there since Saturday, attending various institutional events. For example, the reception in Marivent with Queen Sofia and the attendance of Queen Letizia to the Atlàntida Festival.
However, the joint stay in Mallorca will be brief, as Queen Letizia will return to Paris on Wednesday to continue supporting the Spanish Olympic team.
During their stay in Paris, the princesses have enjoyed a variety of sports.
On Sunday they attended the men’s water polo match between Spain and Australia, in which Spain emerged victorious. They then greeted the Spanish swimmers, including Jessica Vall, after her competition in the 100-meter breaststroke. They also attended the women’s field hockey match, where the Red Sticks defeated the United Kingdom.
Sunday afternoon continued with the badminton match in which Carolina Marin defeated Switzerland’s Jenjira Stadelmann.
Monday was equally hectic. Leonor and Sofia enjoyed beach volleyball in a match between Pablo Herrera and Adrián Gavira against the Dutch.
Later, they watched the fencing bouts of Spanish fencers Carlos Llavador and Lucía Martín-Portugués. They also visited the Olympic Village, where the Spanish athletes live, and in the afternoon they watched the men’s handball match between Spain and Sweden.
This Olympic experience has been a unique opportunity for Leonor and Sofia to demonstrate their commitment to supporting Spanish athletes.
