It’s been an intense few days for Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex celebrated his 40th birthday this weekend.
He also attended a tennis match, and as if that wasn’t enough, he was also caught partying.
But contrary to what many might think, the party had nothing to do with Harry’s birthday.
On the contrary, the couple went out to celebrate someone else’s birthday: their dear friend Tyler Perry.
Meghan and Harry at Tyler Perry’s Birthday Party
According to reports from different newspapers, including the Daily Mail, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted leaving a birthday party for Perry. The filmmaker turned 55 on September 13. The celebration was held the day before Prince Harry turned 40 on Sept. 15.
The photos shared by the British newspaper showed Prince Harry and Meghan sitting together in the back seat of a car, where Meghan was laughing and Harry was holding a phone.
According to the media outlet, the celebration was also attended by Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Alicia Keys, actor Aaron O’Connell, Paramount and Nickelodeon CEO Brian Robbins, and his wife, fashion designer Tracy Robbins.
“Lots of speeches and food too. Everyone was having a lot of fun. It was a good party,” the staffer said about what he saw. “There were a lot of famous people, but I cannot say any more.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are great friends of Perry. Perry was one of the first celebrities to extend a helping hand to Meghan and Harry when they decided to forgo the monarchy and settle in California.
In fact, they spent some time living in a house that Tyler lent them. Their friendship grew so strong that some time later, the filmmaker was named godfather of Lilibet Diana, the couple’s daughter who was born in June 2021 in California.
