Decisions about how to raise their children seem to be a touchy subject between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
According to several royal experts, the two have different stances, especially when it comes to publicly exposing Archie and Lilibet.
Meghan and Harry Differ on Kids’ Privacy and Parenting
While Meghan would be more open about sharing family photos, Harry is much more reserved, influenced by his own childhood under constant press scrutiny.
Jack Royston, a correspondent for Newsweek, explained that Harry maintains a firm stance on his children’s privacy. His experience as one of the most photographed children in the world would have marked him, and now he wants his children to be able to choose how they live their lives, away from the media spotlight if they wish.
Meghan, on the other hand, would be more willing to show the little ones on social media, without major concerns.
Ingrid Seward, director of Majesty Magazine, recalled that Harry came to express his discomfort in front of photographers from a very young age. She even mentioned that Princess Diana sometimes encouraged him to show that rebelliousness in front of the cameras.
The contrast with the life Meghan envisioned before becoming a mother became more evident in her recent podcast, where she confessed that motherhood was much more overwhelming than she had imagined.
This scenario has also been shaped by the California lifestyle. Meghan feels comfortable in a more glamorous environment, close to celebrities.
Harry, on the other hand, prefers to stay away from the spotlight.
This difference in vision has influenced how they decide to show -or not show- their children to the world.
