Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to add stumbling blocks to their already long history of questionable decisions.
On the one hand, Meghan’s venture with her American Riviera Orchard brand is not taking off.
On the other hand, they now face a conflict with their recent acquisition in Portugal.
What’s going on with Meghan and Harry’s home in Portugal?
According to recent reports, Harry and Meghan’s luxurious multi-million dollar residence in Portugal is still “incomplete.”
This new setback only adds another layer of complication to the royal couple’s life.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have invested a staggering $4.7 million in one of the 300 properties at the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, located south of Lisbon.
However, despite the considerable investment, the sprawling property is not yet ready for occupancy.
According to a source who spoke to the Express, the couple will only use it as a vacation home.
“The villa in Portugal is more an investment than anything else and construction hasn’t even been completed yet,” the source said.
“It hasn’t been purchased as a new home, but more as a holiday retreat and something they can put their money into to protect their assets.”
Before they can enjoy their new home in Portugal, they face a major hurdle: Meghan’s EU citizenship.
This citizenship would allow them to travel freely throughout the Schengen area, which includes 29 countries.
In addition, the arrival of Donald Trump as president of the United States has raised the possibility that the couple might consider moving to another country, especially given the controversial comments the president has made about Harry and the problems the duke has faced with his visa.
Regardless, it seems that the Sussexes have no plans to pack their bags and leave the United States.
Meghan and Harry’s life continues to be a whirlwind of decisions and challenges, and it doesn’t look like the situation is going to improve any time soon.
