The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was a historic event as it was the first marriage between a member of the Windsor family and an American woman of African-American origin, in addition to being a former Hollywood star.
But beyond the meanings, some of the guests have shared their experiences, breaking the silence surrounding the wedding.
Veteran photographer Arthur Edward is one of those who has shared his experience at Meghan and Harry’s wedding.
In an interview with the British newspaper “The Sun”, he revealed details of his participation in the ceremony, which celebrated its sixth anniversary last May 19.
Why Meghan and Harry’s wedding was a disaster?
Arthur Edward, made some surprising statements about the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to Edward, Meghan and Harry’s wedding was one of the worst royal engagements he has ever attended.
The photographer mentioned that he had to work mostly with long-range lenses, as Harry seemed determined to keep the press away.
“I can tell you now it was the worst royal engagement I ever did, the worst royal wedding I ever did because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible.
“Everything was done on long lenses. It was hopeless. And when they went past in the carriage, they turned away from me”, he said.
Unlike the photographers hired by the couple, who were able to capture the ceremony from a much closer distance, he and other colleagues had a difficult task.
Edward expressed his frustration at not being able to get the desired images due to the restrictions imposed and claimed that Harry and Meghan appeared to be trying to sabotage the work of the press.
In his conversation with “The Sun,” Edward regretted not having the opportunity to work more with Harry, whom he described as someone special.
These statements shed light on the challenges photographers faced at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, and raise questions about the relationship between the royal couple and the media. This event was a real challenge for photography professionals.
