According to a royal author, Meghan Markle left Princess Kate feeling “very upset” after a tense encounter with one of her staff members at Kensington Palace.
The incident is thought to have marked the beginning of the end for the once-close relationship between the two duchesses.

Tom Quinn, a respected royal commentator, shared that the incident occurred while Meghan and Prince Harry were living in Nottingham Cottage, a relatively modest residence within the palace grounds.
Quinn suggested that the small size of their home might have served as a reminder to Meghan of her position within the royal hierarchy, potentially fueling feelings of frustration.
Speaking about the incident, Quinn explained that Meghan allegedly lost her temper with a staff member who was under Kate’s supervision.
“It was really uncomfortable,” Quinn noted, recounting the story as told by someone who witnessed the altercation. Meghan’s outburst reportedly included raised voices and even foot-stamping, a display that left Kate shocked.
Kate was said to be “horrified” by Meghan’s behavior, considering it “unacceptable.”
This moment is believed to have significantly strained their relationship, which had already been tested by the pressures of royal life and the differences in their roles.
Adding to the tension, new rumors have surfaced about the ongoing rift between Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to royal correspondent Richard Eden, signs of discord between the brothers and their wives can be traced back to November 2018, well before Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from royal duties.
Eden pointed to a photograph taken after a WWI armistice centenary service at Westminster Abbey, noting the “tense” expressions on William and Kate’s faces as they left the event.
He suggested that this image, with its tight jaws and lack of warmth, hinted at the underlying strain between the couples.
While the solemn occasion might explain their somber appearance, Eden claimed there was much more happening behind the scenes, contributing to the eventual split between the royal families.
