Every summer, the British royal family gathers at Balmoral Castle to enjoy their holidays.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are the first to arrive, and the invitation extends to other family members, such as Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The presence of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their children, as well as Princess Eugenie and her family, is also expected.
However, the notable absentees this year will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, and it seems that Queen Camilla might be behind this decision.
Why are Meghan and Harry not traveling to Balmoral?
According to Prince Harry’s biography, “Spare,” his relationship with his stepmother Camilla has never been the best. It appears that Camilla is also not very keen on having the Sussexes nearby.
While the British Royal Family faces one of its worst crises due to the illnesses of two of its key members, new rumors suggest that Queen Camilla is not willing to allow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit Balmoral.
The press reports that King Charles III’s wife has requested not to coincide with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Balmoral Castle. Although this information has not been confirmed by the royal family, it highlights the strained relationship between Harry and his stepmother.
The Express newspaper has reported that Camilla does not wish to share space with the former Suits actress and her husband. This situation puts King Charles III in a dilemma, as he does want to reunite with his younger son and his family.
Royal expert Jenni Bond stated that nothing would please the King more than having his family gathered, especially given the health challenges he has faced.
The British newspaper also noted that Harry and Meghan might visit Balmoral at a later date, once the consort and the rest of the family have left the royal residence.
This year, the holidays will be more discreet, with the aim of relaxing and resting, according to a source close to the Palace.
2024 has been one of the worst years for the British crown, with the monarch and his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, being diagnosed with cancer a few months ago.
