The absence of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex at King Charles’ coronation was the subject of speculation and raised numerous questions.
Although Prince Harry attended the storied ceremony, Meghan Markle’s absence was widely questioned.
The alleged “real reason” behind Meghan’s decision to decline the invitation to attend Charles III and Camilla’s Coronation was revealed by The Sun.
It all starts when in 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave the explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey.
In that interview, The Sussexes made accusations about racism in the Royal Family.
Meghan alleged that there had been “conversations” and “concerns” about the color of their son Archie’s skin.
This revelation sparked a huge controversy and shook the walls of the Palace.
The reason why Meghan did not attend King Charles’ Coronation
According to reports, following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s explosive revelations on Oprah’s show, Charles III and Meghan exchanged letters about the incident.
Apparently, the Duchess was not satisfied with the results of these correspondences.
Meghan Markle was reportedly ‘unimpressed’ by King Charles’ response.
But what did Meghan say to Charles in those letters?
Sources claim that the Duchess sent a letter explaining that her intention was not to accuse the person involved of being racist, but rather to “raise concerns about unconscious bias” within the family.
However, the King’s response did not meet Meghan’s expectations, which contributed to her decision to decline the invitation to attend his coronation.
Although the Royal Family did not publicly acknowledge the allegations, Prince William firmly stated that they are “not a racist family” when asked about the matter.
The interview with Oprah came a year after Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties, following several behind-the-scenes disagreements with the family.
During the interview, Meghan claimed that the Firm “perpetuated falsehoods” about them, did nothing to stop press harassment, and that they did not take her mental health issues seriously.
