The presidential race in the United States takes an unexpected turn with Joe Biden’s withdrawal and support for Kamala Harris as the democratic candidate for the november elections

The current Vice President is emerging as the main contender to face Donald Trump in a race that promises to be historic.

Joe Biden, after weeks of speculation and internal pressures, announced his withdrawal from the presidential race and expressed his full support for Kamala Harris.

In the midst of this political landscape, Meghan Markle’s statements about Kamala Harris have once again captured attention.

What Did Meghan Markle Say About Kamala Harris?

In a filmed conversation in August 2020 with Gloria Steinem, Markle expressed her enthusiasm for the representation that Harris brings.

“I’m so excited to see that kind of representation. You know, for me, being biracial, growing up, whether it was a doll or a person in office, you need to see someone who looks like you in some capacity,” commented Markle.

Markle also highlighted the importance of visibility in politics: “As many of us believe, you can only be what you can see. And in the absence of that, how can you aspire to something greater than what you see in your own world?”

Markle ended by saying, “I think maybe now we’re starting to break through in a different way.”

The relationship between Kamala Harris and Meghan Markle

Kamala Harris has shown her support for Meghan Markle on several occasions.

In October 2019, Harris shared a video of Markle in South Africa, where the Duchess spoke about the negative press during her pregnancy.

“This is incredibly important. We must remember that it’s a sign of strength to show emotion,” Harris wrote at the time. “Meghan, we are with you.”

In June 2020, Harris also praised a virtual graduation speech by Markle, emphasizing the importance of speaking out and acting against injustices.

“‘The only wrong thing to say is to say nothing.’ Thank you, Meghan, for this powerful statement,” Harris posted on Twitter.

Is Meghan Markle’s Future in Politics?

Although Meghan Markle has not officially commented on Harris’s recent candidacy, it is possible that she sees in her an opportunity to explore her facet in the world of politics, a field she has shown interest in the past.

This possibility, however, contrasts with the norms of the British royalty, which prohibits its members from getting involved in politics.

With all eyes on Kamala Harris, her candidacy promises to be a turning point in American politics, offering new hope for Democrats and significant representation for many communities.
