Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attend this year’s Trooping the Colour?

Trooping the Colour, an event of great significance for the British royal family, is approaching.

The commemoration of King Charles’ official birthday is scheduled for Saturday, June 15.
With rumors of Princess Kate’s non-attendance, questions are being raised about the presence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the celebration.

This has undoubtedly been a challenging year for the British monarchy, marked by Kate’s battle with cancer and King Charles’ treatment for the same disease.

The upcoming holiday represents an opportunity for members of the royal family to come together, offering a moment of unity and mutual support.

It looks like fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to wait to see the couple at the traditional Trooping the Colour.

According to reports from People magazine, neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle have been invited to participate in the event, marking the second consecutive year they have been absent.

Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, took up residence in California following their decision to step away from their duties as senior members of the royal family in 2020 and have since stayed well away from the monarchy.

Meghan and Harry first attended Trooping the Colour together in 2018, and then again in 2019, just weeks after welcoming their first child, Prince Archie.

During 2020 and 2021, the event was modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, by those dates, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had formally relinquished their roles within the monarchy and moved to the United States.

In 2022 the couple returned to England, a very special date because Trooping the Colour coincided with Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, marking her 70th year on the throne.

However, they did not join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Harry and Meghan watched the festivities from a room over Horse Guards Parade along with other royals.

Family tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family would be at play in this refusal to invite them to this year’s celebrations.

Just a few weeks ago, Prince Harry was in England for an event related to the Invictus Games and in the short time he was in his native country, he did not meet with his father, King Charles.

So far this year they only saw each other for 45 minutes, last February shortly after the 75-year-old monarch announced he had cancer.
