Meghan Markle has rebounded in the eyes of Americans in recent months, according to the latest data from YouGov’s royal popularity tracking project.
The Duchess of Sussex saw her net approval rating rise to plus 17 in quarter four of 2023, a seven-point increase from quarter three.
Meghan Markle’s Approval in the United States
The spike comes after Meghan’s Netflix show in December 2022 and Prince Harry’s January 2023 memoir initially hurt her standing. However, the couple regained some goodwill at the end of 2023.
Harry also saw his rating tick up slightly to plus 26. Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton remain very popular in the US.
William rose to plus 28 approval, while Kate leads as the most liked living royal at plus 40.
The royals are weathering turbulent times, with Kate sidelined for months and King Charles prepping for a medical procedure.
But the latest numbers provide a rare bright spot, especially for Meghan. Her comeback indicates some thawing attitudes among Americans as she and Harry move forward.
