Meghan turned 44 and, as has become customary, celebrated far away from anything that once had to do with royal protocol.
No official photo shoots or messages from Buckingham Palace. Instead, she chose something much more intimate: a family day at her home in Montecito with Harry, Archie, Lilibet, and her mother, Doria Ragland.
Hours later, she shared a simple and grateful image: “Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours…,” she wrote.
She thanked her closest circle for the special day and, in a gesture not often seen from former royals, she also included those who follow her from afar: “Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️.”
And dinner? In Los Angeles, with her inner circle and a signature menu. She was spotted at Funke, chef Evan Funke’s restaurant, and was full of praise, calling it “one of the top five meals of my life” and sharing a photo of the dishes. Between pasta and drinks, it was clear that this birthday was more about warmth and enjoyment than etiquette.
As a final touch—and here comes the most interesting part for those who follow her business ventures—Meghan took advantage of the day to preview her upcoming launch, a Californian rosé called As Ever, bottles and flowers of which have already been seen on her Instagram account.
It was all very well thought out, because if there’s one thing Meghan knows how to do, it’s combine the personal with the strategic.
