With the premiere of the Netflix documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’ many discovered that Meghan Markle had released a cookbook, which was her first project as Duchess of Sussex.
The wife of Prince Harry, in 2018, chose to push a community cookbook to help families affected by the fire that occurred in the Grenfell Tower, an event where she recounted in the docuseries that affected her very much.

The project began after the Grenfell Tower fire that left 71 people dead in the London Borough of North Kensington. The victims were housed in a hotel, but it did not have a kitchen to prepare food. One of the survivors named Munira Mahmud asked the Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Center for the kitchen so she could make their meals.
Before long there were women from different cultures cooking and exchanging recipes. When the Duchess heard about it, she started attending these gatherings and offered to make the book for them so that the kitchen could be open not just two days, but 7 days a week.
Meghan Markle’s cookbook contains a collection of 50 recipes and was made to raise funds for the Hubb (Arabic for self-love) community project, which gives space for women from different cultures to showcase their wonderful cooking secrets.
