As the British royals prepare for the most important event of the year, the coronation of Charles III, Meghan Markle’s family has given an interview to 7News Australia’s ‘Spotlight’ program.
Thomas Markle and his children Samantha Markle and Thomas Jr. have spoken openly about the Duchess and have shown unpublished images of the Duchess’ childhood and adolescence.

Thomas Markle has claimed that Meghan spent her entire teenage years with him, that they shared many special moments together. He also released unpublished videos of him with his daughter as proof that “she loved” her father who was “her hero”.
Mr. Markle claimed he has not spoken to his daughter for 4 years, “I wish that we could sit down and talk,” he said.
He admitted that a meeting is unlikely given that Meghan did not make contact even after she suffered a stroke last year.
“If she doesn’t turn up for a stroke, if that doesn’t move her, what would?” he said.
Meghan’s father has also spoken of his desire to have a relationship with his two grandchildren and his grief over Meghan’s decision to have broken off any contact with him. Thomas Markle wonders if it is worth getting rid of his father for the rest of his life.
Criticism of Meghan has also been present from her half-siblings who said they were offended by Meghan when she claimed to be an “only child” during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
Samantha claims Meghan denied their existence because she didn’t think they were good enough for her new life.
Both Samantha and Thomas Jr. claim they grew up with Markle and were present during her childhood.
Meghan’s half-sister also claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship is “toxic.”
Thomas Markle also spoke of his desire to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children; Archie and Lilibet: “Meg I love you…. I love my grandchildren. I’d love to see them”.
As a final message Thomas said he was open to any kind of conversation with his daughter.
