Meghan Markle has managed to surpass the Prince and Princess of Wales in views on Instagram during 2025, despite having a follower base six times smaller.
With just 3 million followers, the duchess amassed 168 million views across 22 reels, averaging 7.6 million per post.
Meghan’s Instagram Outperforms William and Kate’s
Her most successful video, which announced the renaming of her online store to As Ever, reached 26.9 million views since its posting on Feb. 17.
The contrast with William and Kate’s official account is notable. Although they total 16.8 million followers and have shared 47 reels so far this year, their posts total 134.8 million views, averaging just 2.8 million per video.
Even their most popular reel – a collaboration with science popularizer Big Manny – came in at 17.6 million views.
One possible explanation lies in the type of content. Meghan’s posts are the main channel where she shares personal news and news of her projects such as her cooking show on Netflix and her lifestyle brand.
In contrast, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ content usually complements existing press coverage of public events and official engagements, so their reels are not usually the source of news.
