In 2016, a then-actress Meghan Markle shared her lighthearted New Year’s resolutions on her former blog The Tig.
The then ‘Suits’ actress talked about swearing less, even stopping biting her nails.
Seven years later, those resolutions have resurfaced, as Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, reportedly hope to make 2024 their “year of redemption” after a turbulent 2023.
Meghan Markle’s New Year’s resolutions
Meghan’s past resolutions, posted six months before she met Harry, included small lifestyle goals like quitting nail-biting and relearning French.
She also set ambitious aspirations like running a marathon, noting she never followed through on that one.
Most poignantly, Meghan said her only real resolution was to “approach life playfully” and “leave room for magic.”
“For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher.”
Now amid setbacks in 2023 like their Spotify deal ending, Meghan and Harry look ahead to redeeming 2024.
As Meghan recently said, “I can’t wait until we can announce” their “exciting things on the slate.”
Perhaps channeling her 2016 mindset to enjoy life’s magic will help lead to the Sussexes’ redemption next year.
