Meghan Markle’s new Instagram account has generated a lot of excitement, as it has been rumored that the Duchess of Sussex plans to use it as a source of income.
This decision has been the subject of controversy due to her privacy advocacy, but it could certainly result in significant financial benefits.
Does Meghan Markle have Instagram?
Apparently yes, several media have assured that the Instagram profile with the user @meghan belongs to the wife of Prince Harry.
The avatar of the profile has an image of pink peonies, which are the favorite of the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan Markle’s alleged Instagram profile continues to accrue hundreds of thousands of followers including several of the duchess’ friends, such as activist Mandana Dayani, who was president of Archewell until December 2022.
Despite the juicy income she can earn, Meghan Markle has yet to make her first post on the platform.
According to reports from the Express newspaper, the account was opened in June 2022, but so far she has not shared any content.
According to Emily Nash, a royal editor quoted by the British newspaper, Meghan is unlikely to post anything “anytime soon.”
However, the account has been “set up for her” in case she decides to rejoin the Instagram world, as she now has the “option,” she said.
The Sussexes have taken a cautious approach to social media, especially after their Archewell Foundation summit for World Mental Health Day in New York.
Despite their concerns, some social media experts, such as writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue, have suggested that Meghan Markle could become an influencer on Instagram and earn up to $1 million per sponsored post.
While we don’t yet know when she will decide to use her account and overcome her fears, it is undeniable that Meghan Markle has the potential to become a major influencer and build a strong brand on social media.
Her popularity and relevance could make her a valuable spokesperson for various brands that are willing to work with her.
“I think we know they’ve made a lot of money given their shenanigans over the last two years, but apparently Meghan really wants to focus on building her brand. There have been rumors that she could actually post or do sponsored posts on Instragram, which is something that influencers do. Apparently she could make up to a million dollars per post by sponsoring some kind of brand that’s willing to have her as a spokesperson,” Krakue said.
