Before she became a duchess, Meghan Markle was captivating audiences as the ambitious Rachel Zane in the popular TV show Suits.
Set in the bustling world of a high-powered New York law firm, the series chronicled Zane’s professional and personal life, including her romance with Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams.
Their on-screen relationship culminated in a wedding during the seventh season, coinciding with Meghan’s real-life engagement to Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle hints at the secret behind Suits’ success
Although Suits concluded its run in 2019, it has experienced a resurgence on Netflix since June 2023, amassing over 45 billion minutes of streaming.
Meghan shared her thoughts on the show’s enduring appeal in a 2023 interview with Variety:
“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. It’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
The renewed interest in Suits has sparked rumors of a potential spin-off series. Speculation is rife about whether Meghan might reprise her role as Rachel Zane.
The new series is rumored to follow Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York starting afresh in LA, representing the city’s elite.
Stephen Amell of Arrow fame is rumored to lead the cast, with Josh McDermitt from The Walking Dead expected to join him.
At the Golden Globes, Patrick Adams, Meghan’s former co-star, teased the possibility of a reunion.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he hinted:
“Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to LA. They gotta fix some stuff.” He added with a smile, “If we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people.”
Meghan herself, during the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, hinted at the possibility of returning to acting with a playful “never say never.”
