Meghan Markle’s latest venture, a podcast titled Confessions of a Female Founder, has already sparked controversy before even making its debut.
This new project comes on the heels of the premiere of her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, which was met with mixed reviews from critics.
The podcast, which aims to feature candid conversations with successful female entrepreneurs, has been met with skepticism, particularly in the U.S.
Meghan Markle’s Podcast Faces Backlash Before Launch
Pop culture commentator Zack Peter was among the first to voice his concerns, sharing on TikTok:
“What era are we in? Is this 2016? First, she gave us a Pinterest-style cooking show, and now she’s jumping into the #GirlBoss trend as if we’re still in 2017.”
Peter went on to suggest that Meghan is overexposing herself and that audiences are growing weary of her presence in the media.

The criticism doesn’t stop there. Conservative voices, such as Fox News host Laura Ingraham, have also taken jabs at the Duchess of Sussex.
“What’s this I hear about Markle launching another podcast? Oh my God, enough with the podcasts,” she exclaimed on her show, before sarcastically suggesting it should be named Insufferable.
Despite the negativity, Meghan’s Netflix show did manage to secure a spot in the platform’s Top 10—an accomplishment that neither Prince Harry’s Polo documentary nor his Heart of Invictus series achieved.
This suggests that, while there is vocal criticism, she still maintains a level of audience interest.
In an Instagram post announcing the project, Meghan expressed her enthusiasm:
“I’m so excited to share with you something else I’ve been working on: Confessions of a Female Founder, my new podcast with @lemonadamedia!” She added that the show will explore the journeys of women who have built successful businesses, allowing her to “pick their brains” while she develops her own ventures.
With the first episode set to premiere on April 8, all eyes will be on Meghan to see whether this new endeavor can overcome the skepticism and attract a loyal audience—or if it will add to the growing list of projects that have failed to win over the public.
