Is it a lie that Archie’s room caught fire?
According to Meghan’s story, the event occurred during an official trip she took with Prince Harry and her firstborn to South Africa in 2019.
“In that time frame the heater in the room caught fire. There was no smoke detector, someone smelled smoke in the hallway, went in and they put out the fire. Archie was supposed to have been sleeping there,” he recounted.
However, a source consulted by the British newspaper Daily Mail, revealed that there is a different version. According to the publication there was never a fire.
Witnesses pointed out that there was indeed an incident, but they do not remember that there was actually a fire.
“The heater was certainly smoking and was unplugged and fixed,” the British newspaper published.
For her part, Angela Levin, royal biographer, assured that this story could be another example of how the actress can be “an unreliable narrator” and questioned the fact how such a traumatic event was never leaked to the media.
“Meghan outraged that she had to go on another royal engagement in South Africa after she heard there was a fire in baby Archie’s room.”, wrote the author on her Twitter account. “Nasty to hear but as an actress doesn’t she know the show must go on. Luckily he wasn’t there but odd it was never leaked to the press.”.
