Meghan Markle and Prince Harry this week launched their new website, Sussex.com, a portal to showcase all their activities.

This page replaces Archewell.com, a website they used until recently to communicate the activities of their foundation and production company.

The Sussexes’ new website contains notable omissions and curious word choices that very many people overlooked.

    The Sussex website

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quietly launched a slick new website, Sussex.com, on February 12.

At first glance, the design looks organized and visually appealing. However, upon closer inspection, there are notable omissions, careful language selections, and unexpected components on the site.

Unusual .com domain: Opting for a .com instead of a .co.uk domain suggests they do not want to be viewed as mainly a British company.

Only one photo: The site only contains a single image of the couple clapping at the 2023 Invictus Games, with no individual pictures.

Coat of arms: Harry and Meghan on their new website, resume their coat of arms of the Duchess of Sussex which also incorporates that of her husband. Using the coat of arms gives an ex-presidential feel to the platform.

Where is Archewell Audio?: The new website will showcase the couple’s projects, from their office to their foundation Archewell, and their production company Archewell Productions.

    Archetypes podcast
There were only 12 episodes of Meghan Markle’s podcast. (Spotify)

But missing from the site is Archewell Audio, their podcast project, which failed to get off the ground after Spotify terminated its contract for “low productivity.”

Meghan’s bio double’s Harry’s: Meghan’s 590-word bio touts her as a “feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity.”

Meanwhile, Harry’s 338-word bio simply labels him a “humanitarian, military veteran, mental health advocate, and environmental campaigner.”

Meghan’s biography on the website is significantly longer than Harry’s.

No mention of the Royal Family: Despite using their Duke and Duchess titles, there is no reference to King Charles or the wider Royal Family on the site.

Downplayed acting career: Meghan’s 11-paragraph bio only briefly notes her acting, reducing her entertainment career to one line. The word “actor” does not appear.

“Meghan turned her focus to the entertainment industry, later securing a lead role on the hit series, ‘Suits’ which she starred in for seven seasons.”

No Netflix mention: Despite having launched several productions with Netflix, there is no mention of production or their $100 million streaming deal covering projects through 2025.

‘Harry & Meghan’ had more than 81 million hours of streaming.

The Archetypes podcast: After producing only 12 episodes of Archetypes podcasts, the website calls Meghan’s canceled project a “record-breaking.”
