Meghan Markle has just closed the chapter on one of her more curious ventures—her online store on ShopMy.
There, she offered a selection of “handpicked” clothing and accessories, as she described it herself, ranging from basic tees to silk dresses priced over a thousand pounds. It was all very Montecito: one foot in Saint Laurent, the other in Uniqlo.
The shutdown was complete. The page that until recently displayed her banner reading “A handpicked and curated collection of the things I love” is now blank, with no notice or statement.
It was the more observant followers who noticed the disappearance and raised the alarm, since neither Meghan nor Harry has made any public comment about it.
What’s curious is that just days ago, in an interview with Bloomberg, Meghan said she loved giving people the chance to “emulate the style.” Now, though, the digital storefront has vanished.
I’m not sure whether to call it strategy or just trial and error, but it feels like Meghan is still figuring out how to balance her “royal entrepreneur” persona with an audience that watches every move she makes.
