Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid a visit this Friday to La Giralda School, located in the south of Bogota, Colombia.
This educational center has been highlighted as one of the 10 best schools in the world, and the visit of the Duke and Duchess is part of their tour of the country, accompanied by the Vice President and Minister of Equality of Colombia, Francia Márquez.
The main focus of Harry and Meghan’s trip to Colombia is on protecting the rights of children and young people, comprehensive education and mental health, issues that are fundamental to them.
The tour began with a visit to the school’s Museum of Historical Memory, where the dukes were able to view various works of art created by the students.
Later, Harry, Meghan and Vice President Márquez visited the transition classroom, where the students themselves showed them the learning methods implemented by Alianza Educativa, the organization to which the school belongs.
The school’s agro-astronomy club, known as ‘Pechkanameya’, was the next stop on the tour.
This club works to preserve the ancestral memory and traditional knowledge of the countryside.
The Duke and Duchess also visited the ‘gardens of memory’, a monument of the Mothers of False Positives Organization of Soacha (MAFAPO), which pays tribute to the victims of extrajudicial executions during the armed conflict in Colombia, known as ‘false positives’.
During this emotional moment, Harry and Meghan planted two trees: a walnut tree, symbol of Bogota, and a guayacan, a spiritual tree.
The tour ended with the presentation of the school’s new ‘socio-emotional’ gymnasium, a safe space where students can learn to recognize and manage their emotions.
La Giralda School was selected by the prestigious World’s Best School Prizes, organized by T4 Education, a global platform that brings together more than 200 thousand teachers from over 100 countries.
The visit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Colombia, which began on Thursday and will last four days, will take them to visit various regions of the country, learn about its culture and biodiversity, and address current issues such as cyberbullying and online violence in schools and forums.
Meghan Markle’s Style at La Giralda School
For this important visit, Meghan Markle opted for a working girl outfit.
The duchess chose a camel-colored linen jacket by Loro Piana, a piece she has worn before, but one that remains a classic in her closet, worth nearly $4,000.
She paired the jacket with a Cesta Collective crossbody bag in a panna shade, a new addition to her collection, costing $750.
To complete the look, Meghan opted for elegant Chanel slingback pumps in beige and black, a design she has repeated on several occasions, adding a touch of classic sophistication.
As for the accessories she chose, they also have great significance.
She wore the iconic gold Cartier Tank Française watch, an accessory that has been a constant in her public appearances. She also wore the butterfly earrings that belonged to Princess Diana, adding a sentimental touch to her outfit.
She completed her look with the Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet in yellow gold, a timeless piece that highlights her elegant and refined style.
