Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Colombia captured the attention of the media and public opinion, not only for their commitment to social causes but also for a funny moment that resonated on social media: Meghan dancing salsa in the city of Cali.
This four-day visit to Colombia included stops in three cities, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex engaged in various social initiatives, leaving a message of solidarity and support for local communities.
However, one of the most memorable moments of the trip was not strictly formal. Meghan and Harry surprised everyone by showing off their dancing skills, an event that unleashed a wave of comments and reactions on digital platforms.

A double major in theater and international studies, Meghan shared classrooms with Iris Amador, who recently posted a photo on her Instagram account with Meghan, reminiscing about their dance class days.
In the image, Meghan can be seen dressed in a black turtleneck sweater and dark jeans, a snapshot that evokes nostalgia and reveals her passion for dance from her college years.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visit Colombia, including #Cali, the world capital of salsa — music and dance that Meghan Markle likes, with whom we shared salsa classes at university,” Amador wrote below the photo on Instagram in Spanish.
“Salsa lessons with the then future-to-be #DuchessOfSussex, in college,” she wrote in English.
For her show in Cali, Meghan chose a vibrant ensemble that included a white T-shirt and a hand-embroidered midi skirt by Colombian designer Juan De Dios, complemented by leather sandals.
Prince Harry, meanwhile, opted for a blue linen shirt and khaki pants, showing a relaxed and appropriate style for the occasion.
Together, the Duke and Duchess danced at the El Vallado Recreational Unit, where Prince Harry even twirled Meghan on the dance floor, a gesture that drew laughter and applause from those present.
Cali is recognized worldwide as the capital of salsa, and this cultural context gave the couple a unique opportunity to connect with Latin music and dance. Fans’ comments on social media reflected the joy and enthusiasm of seeing Meghan enjoying her dancing skills.
One royal fan commented underneath: “So beautiful! Thanks for sharing this photo and the background story. Meghan taking salsa classes, wow. Can’t wait to see them in Cali.”
Another wrote: “Thank you for sharing this! Finally getting to see Meghan salsa dancing was everything! It’s so uplifting to see those lessons paying off so beautifully!”
