The new message from Meghan Markle’s father is shocking, the man sent a plea to the Duchess after a judge agreed to delay the start of the trial scheduled for January 11.
The new trial date is set for fall 2021, but Thomas Markle, the duchess’s father, has expressed serious concerns about the postponement.
New message from Meghan Markle’s father
As published by the British newspaper The Express, Markle revealed that he suffers from heart and lung problems and fears that his health will deteriorate at any moment.
Meghan’s father wants the case “to end as quickly as possible” and rejects her daughter’s decision to delay the trial for ten months.
Markle’s comments were revealed in a statement from Elizabeth Hartley, Legal Director of the Associated Newspapers Group, the publisher that the Duchess is suing for violation of her privacy.
“This case is causing me anxiety and I want to finish it as quickly as possible. I am 76 years old and as a result of my heart condition and surgery I am taking blood thinners that have had an effect on my breathing. Meghan’s father said.
The man assured that none of his male relatives has lived beyond 80 years.
“I am realistic and could die tomorrow. The sooner this case is carried out, the better ”. Markle stressed.
Meghan is suing Associated Newspapers, publishers of Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, for privacy violations for publishing excerpts from a letter she sent to her father in 2018.
Her father was due to testify at the trial, which was initially scheduled to begin on January 11.
