Comparisons between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are a daily occurrence, especially on social media.
Recently, the Duchess of Sussex has been accused of imitating the Princess of Wales in one of her most recent publications, and the controversy has not been long in coming.
On January 1, 2025, Meghan surprised her followers by launching her new Instagram account @meghan.
Since then, she’s been sharing all about her new projects. She’s talked about her Netflix show, mourned the death of one of her beloved dogs, celebrated the Invictus Games, and even celebrated Valentine’s Day. But what really caused a stir was a recent post.
Meghan Markle’s Instagram Posts
Controversy erupted when Meghan shared a vision board” for her new lifestyle brand, “As Ever.” This collage included handwritten notes, personal photos, and drawings of her son, Archie.
Surprisingly, this coincided with a post by Kate Middleton, in which she also showed drawings of her children—George, Charlotte, and Louis.
The coincidence prompted many on social media to say that Meghan was trying to replicate Kate’s family and artistic approach, even calling her “fake.”
It is not the first time Meghan faces this kind of criticism and comparisons with Kate Middleton, so, as always, she prefers to avoid commenting on it.
This controversy comes just after Meghan announced her “As Ever” brand, which, by the way, has also generated debate because of its logo. This design includes a palm tree adorned with two hummingbirds, which has earned her accusations of plagiarism, as many noted that it resembles the coat of arms of Porreres, a town in Spain.
Despite the criticism, the mayor of Porreres has said she does not plan lawsuits against Meghan.
At the end of the day, these finger-pointing and comparisons not only call into question the originality of what Meghan is creating but also reflect how her every move will be scrutinized, even though she is no longer part of the British Royal Family.
So the comparison party continues because it looks like Meghan and Kate will continue to be the center of attention.
