With just hours to go before the premiere of Meghan Markle’s new show on Netflix, *new details have been revealed. The show promises to captivate everyone with her unique style and skill in designing and preparing delicious dishes.
The show, titled “With Love, Meghan,” consists of eight episodes and will focus on cooking, gardening, and crafts—a throwback to the days when Meghan ran her former lifestyle blog, The Tig.
To learn more about this new venture, the Duchess of Sussex herself shared some secrets in a candid interview with People magazine, where she talked about her life since she and her husband, Prince Harry, decided to step away from royal life.
One of the aspects that caught the most attention was the reason Meghan chose to film her cooking show in a different location than her home. Meghan and Harry reside at a stunning property in Montecito, where they live with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Where was “With Love, Meghan” filmed?
In this intimate interview, Meghan, 43, explained why she decided to film the series in a rented house instead of her own residence.
Now that Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, are in school, Meghan feels it’s the right time to return to work and inspire her children.
“As a woman, a mom, and a wife, to be able to find yourself again—in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older—is a wonderful feeling,” Meghan commented to People.
In addition, Meghan defended her home as a haven of privacy. For her and her family, their sprawling estate is a sanctuary, so she opted to film the show in a rented home near hers that mirrors her own space.
“I wanted to protect that safe haven,” she explains. “We’re a close-knit family, and I love those moments—putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day. Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that’s a lot of people to have in your house!”
Despite not filming in her home, Meghan found a way to incorporate family life into the show, filming in her chicken coop, garden, and orchard.
Archie and Lili were also present during the filming process.
Meghan shared that “Archie did the [filming clapboard]! Sweet moments,” and added that her children visited the set with their father, which she loved because ”it was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
One crew member recalled how Archie and Lili would run up to Meghan on set:
“She was super attentive and doting on them. We would give them headphones so they could listen to audio.” Meghan concluded with a wish: “I hope that when they get old enough, they feel really proud that they were part of the beginning of this with me.”
So, as we prepare to enjoy With Love, Meghan, it’s clear that this program will not only be a glimpse into her cooking and creativity but also a celebration of the family life she values so highly.
