Missing the coronation of King Charles III seems not to be a problem for Meghan Markle. The Duchess of Sussex instead of being questioned for not attending the historic ceremony, now sees her popularity skyrocketing in the United States, the country where she resides since she and Prince Harry resigned from the British royals.
A new report states that the actress is now the most popular member of the royal family in the United States and occupies the top of a list above King Charles himself, Queen Camilla, and even Kate Middleton, who is quite beloved on U.S. soil.
Meghan Markle’s popularity
According to the British newspaper Express, Meghan is known as the queen of the internet. She is the most searched member of the Royal Family, as Google search interest for the Duchess has surpassed all other members of the Royal Family.
Meghan has a current search score of 28 points, second place is held by her husband Prince Harry, followed by Princess Kate is third in popularity, followed by King Charles.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Queen Camilla tie for last place as the least searched members of the British Royal Family.
The popularity ranking was compiled by Bonus Insider, a betting agency. However, these results contrast with the survey prepared by YouGov, which reveals that both Meghan and Harry have a low acceptance rate among the British people.
Clive Irving, author of The Last Queen explained that the Sussexes have gained a lot of favor in the United States and are seen as a modern couple.
“Both of them are involved in issues that really matter but Harry in particular pays a lot of attention to the care of former military people that have suffered from various stresses,” he said in statements by the Express.
