It seems like Prince Harry’s latest Netflix project is ready to charge onto the scene. On September 9th, the streaming giant revealed that the Duke of Sussex’s new documentary series, titled “POLO,” will premiere this December.

This series promises to take viewers inside the world of polo, featuring elite players from around the globe.

“POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport,” Netflix announced via a statement on X.

Interestingly, the trailer release for “POLO” coincided with a personal milestone for Princess Kate, who announced on the same day that she is cancer-free after completing her chemotherapy.

    Reactions in the social media

The publication of the trailer generated some negative reactions on social media. Even, some users mentioned that it is due to a strategy to subtract prominence to the announcement of Princess Kate Middleton who finished her cancer treatment.

One comment that received a lot of support on X read, “Using a family member’s cancer to help try and promote this flop of a documentary, not cool Netflix,” another commented, ”Using a family member’s cancer to help try and promote this flop of a documentary, not cool Netflix,” an angry online user said: “Posting this straight after Catherine’s announcement about her cancer ensures that not only will I not watch this, I will also cancel Netflix. Screw you.”

The news about the polo series comes as part of a larger collaboration between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Netflix.

So far, their partnership with Netflix has brought several projects to life. This includes the revealing docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” which launched in December 2022 and quickly became Netflix’s most-watched documentary debut.

The couple also produced “Live to Lead,” a series celebrating changemakers like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Gloria Steinem, which premiered the same month, and “Heart of Invictus,” a docuseries released in August 2023 that follows athletes preparing for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games at The Hague.
