What started as an exclusive in Spain has ended up crossing borders.
The photos of Princess Leonor in bikini, enjoying a few days at the beach in Uruguay with friends, have now reached the pages of the UK’s Daily Mail and the German magazine Bunte.
Unpublished bikini photos of Princess Leonor
Both media have published new images that did not appear in the original Diez Minutos report, which caused a great stir in Spain.
The Daily Mail has made a remarkable display, including unpublished photos of the moment, while Bunte has taken the heiress to its cover with a headline that has generated debate: “HeiBer Flirt in den Wellen”, that is, “Hot flirting in the sea”.
Although in Spain the media treatment of Leonor is usually more cautious, the foreign press has opted for a more daring approach.
The images show the princess accompanied by several friends, including a young man with whom she shared a swim in the sea and which has caught the attention of the tabloids.
According to reports, the rights to the images were sold in two phases. First to Diez Minutos, which published 14 photos distributed in an extensive 14-page report.
Then, with the initial hype already subsiding, it was made possible to market them abroad, where there was also interest, although not to get the scoop.
This type of agreement is not usual in the Spanish tabloids, but it is in markets such as the British or German.
The fact that the photos ended up on their covers could be a sign that the publishing sector in Spain is beginning to open up to new dynamics of international distribution.
