Queen Letizia of Spain is facing a new media scandal over the publication of a book that allegedly reveals secrets of her private life.
These revelations add to those already made by journalist Jaime Peñafiel or Letizia’s former brother-in-law, Jaime del Burgo, who claimed to have been an alleged lover of the Queen when she was already married to King Felipe.
All the revelations about the alleged life of the consort have damaged the image of the mother of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, who is going through one of her worst moments.
New book on Queen Letizia
Now the author, Joaquín Abad, is a journalist who has obtained alleged testimonies from sources close to the royal family, including the security agents who guard them.
The book, entitled “Letizia, an unauthorized biography”, contains two serious accusations against the wife of Felipe VI: that she drove drunk, putting her life at risk, and that she tried to seduce one of her bodyguards by acting provocatively.
Abad hopes that his work will have a great impact on the public and the press, and that it will bring him financial benefits.
But she could also face possible lawsuits from the royal family, which usually protects the privacy of its members.
