Sad news shook Princess Beatrice this week, her former teenage boyfriend Paolo Liuzzo was found dead in a hotel in the United States.
Luizzo and Beatrice had a relationship that got off on the wrong foot in 2001 when the young man was accused of murdering a student.
The romance became public in 2006 when they were captured in Switzerland on a skiing vacation. He was 23 and she was 17 and was the first love of the princess.
The repercussions of their romantic relationship were such that Paolo had to return to the United States for violating the conditions of his probation, as he was only allowed to travel abroad for work purposes.
His three-year probation was extended for six months, which hastened the end of their romance.
What happened to Princess Beatrice’s ex-boyfriend?
Paolo Liuzzo, 41, died in a hotel room in Miami, according to some reports published by The Sun, the reason for his death was an overdose.
Liuzzo passed away last February 7, however, his death did not transcend until now, two months later.
The same media assured that Beatrice, 35, niece of King Charles III and daughter of Prince Andrew, learned of her loss shortly after her mother, Sarah Ferguson, was diagnosed with cancer.
The tragic news is said to have been devastating for Beatrice and she was devastated by the event.
Liuzzo’s body was flown to his hometown, New York and the funeral took place last February 16.

He was charged with punching a student to death in Massachusetts, however, it all turned out to be assault and battery and he served 100 hours of community service.
Years later he pleaded guilty to trafficking, fraud and cocaine possession offenses and had to pay a fine of more than US$3,000.
She also faced charges for car accidents and fraud in Australia, no doubt her life was trapped in a cycle of self-destruction.

For those closest to him, his death was foretold because of his excessive and unbridled lifestyle.
“He was always borrowing money to pay loans. It became a vicious cycle,” commented a friend.
Beatrice is currently happily married to businessman Edoardo Mapelli, 40, with whom she had her first daughter in 2021 named Sienna.
