Penny Mourdant, the Speaker of the British House of Commons, has revealed the truth about King Charles’ health to The Sun after the monarch recently resumed his royal duties.
Charles, 75, announced on February that he had cancer, which was discovered after he underwent prostate surgery.
Since then, the king’s health has not ceased to arouse interest.
Recently, William and Harry’s father returned to work, and now it is his friend Penny Mourdant who reveals the truth about the monarch’s health.
How is the health of King Charles?
Mordaunt, who went viral in 2023 by being responsible for carrying the sword of state on the coronation day of Charles III, spoke to the British media and revealed how the king is doing.
She is the President of His Majesty’s Right Honorable Privy Council, a body of advisors to the British monarch established in 1801 and composed largely of senior politicians.
With such credentials, Mordaunt’s testimony takes on special value. Here is what he says about the health of Charles III.
When asked about the monarch’s health, Mordaunt did not hesitate to answer what his current situation is.
And although some international media have suggested that he is not quite well, nothing could be further from the truth.
“He’s very good. And I know that he would have been so pleased to get back to public duties. He would have missed it tremendously”.
“I think everyone is really pleased to see him back and I know that he wants to do more, so it’s been a good week.”
The Sun also reviewed the Conservative MP’s statements to GB News about the King’s personality.
“I think people won’t be surprised to know that he’s completely charming and always calm.
“And he’s also got a really good sense of humour as well. But he’s always asking about how things are going, particularly issues that we’re dealing with in Parliament or about particular groups who he knows that are having a rough time.
“He’s always asking after those people, so he cares a great deal and he’s a delight to work with.”
