Prince Harry finds himself at the center of a recent controversy, apparently unseating his wife, Meghan Markle, who had been the subject of constant media attention following the premiere of her show “With Love, Meghan.”
On this occasion, the controversy stems from a photograph posted by the Duchess of Sussex on her Instagram account, where Prince Harry is seen with his daughter, Princess Lilibet.
This seemingly harmless image has generated negative reactions and accusations that the Duke put the safety of his 3-year-old daughter at risk.

The photo in question was shared by Meghan last March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day, accompanied by the following text:
“Happy International Women’s Day! Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.”
Within a carousel of images, one in particular stands out: the photo of Prince Harry holding Lilibet in his arms during a boat ride

The image, for showing an intimate family moment of the couple with their children, quickly captured the public’s attention.
However, controversy soon followed. Some users have accused Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of violating local laws.
The main criticism focuses on the absence of a life jacket on Princess Lilibet.
California state law states that children under the age of 13 must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket while aboard a moving vessel. This regulation, according to critics, was not followed in the image.
The law provides exceptions to this regulation, such as wearing a harness on a sailboat, being inside an enclosed cabin, or during an emergency rescue operation. Critics argue that none of these exceptions applied to the situation depicted in the photograph.
On the other hand, some users have defended the couple, suggesting that the vessel might have been moored to the dock, minimizing the risk.
This defense points to the possibility that the photograph was taken in a less risky situation than initially interpreted.
So far, it is not known whether U.S. authorities will take action on the matter.
The controversy has sparked a debate over parental responsibility and the interpretation of safety laws. The image, which was initially intended to celebrate International Women’s Day and to show a family moment, has become a point of discussion about child safety and the enforcement of parental responsibility laws.
