Since her birth, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken Princess Lilibet Diana’s privacy very seriously.
The youngest daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has barely been seen in public, and the available images of her have been carefully selected by her parents.
Recently, however, an unpublished photograph has been leaked in which, for the first time in more than two years, her face is clearly shown.
Photo of Princess Lilibet Diana
The image in question was part of an exclusive Christmas greeting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent to their closest circle.
In the black and white photograph, the family appears lying on the floor, sharing a moment of complicity.
Archie, the eldest son, affectionately places a hand on Meghan’s face, who smiles at her son’s tender attitude.
Harry, located at the bottom of the image, is relaxed and happy, while Lilibet, at the top, smiles directly at the camera.
The little girl’s resemblance to other royals did not go unnoticed.
Some observers noted that Lilibet has inherited her father’s distinctive red hair and blue eyes that stand out in her cheerful expression.
While some compare her to Princess Beatrice of York, Harry’s cousin, others have noted a certain resemblance to Princess Charlotte, daughter of Prince William and Princess Kate, even though the cousins have never had the opportunity to meet due to family tensions.
The leak of the image came unexpectedly. The Christmas postcard, which bore the official Sussex monogram, was accidentally shared on social media by a person close to the couple.
A follower of the royal family discovered the photo and spread it, quickly turning it into a topic of conversation.
The ultimate Christmas card
Interestingly, for the most recent Christmas message addressed to the general public and shared here at RoyalFamilyNews, Harry and Meghan opted for a completely different image.
Instead of the family portrait, they shared a collage of significant moments from their travels and activities throughout 2024.
The only photograph featuring Archie and Lilibet showed them running toward their parents with their backs to the camera, thus maintaining the privacy of their faces.
This is not the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken steps to protect their children’s privacy.
Recently, Meghan shared family images following the loss of their dog, Guy, and again made sure Archie and Lilibet were only captured with their backs turned.
Now, with the recent leak, the world has had a chance to see Lilibet’s face after a long time.
