The Royal Household has surprised by opening an intimate window into the family life of Princess Leonor and her younger sister Infanta Sofia.
Through an emotional video after Sofia’s graduation ceremony at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales, the heir to the throne congratulated her sister on her achievement and shared unpublished images that retrace endearing moments of their childhood together, spontaneous gestures of affection and family scenes that until now had been kept private.

Although she was unable to attend the event because she was aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano as part of her military training, Leonor found a way to be present.
Her congratulatory message included photographs and short clips showing everything from Sofia’s childhood to recent scenes, such as a tender kiss on the forehead or an amusing pose in front of the mirror with cell phone in hand.
The selection reflects the closeness between the two, marked by the complicity they have always shown in public.
In several of the images, the sisters can be seen hugging, holding hands or sharing school and family events, in a visual narrative that seems to speak of the deep affection and bond that unites them.
One of the most commented scenes shows the two taking a selfie in front of a mirror. A scene that shows that they enjoy small details just like many young people their age.
This gesture, supported by the Royal House, highlights the relationship of the young girls and the efforts of King Felipe and Queen Letizia to give them a childhood as normal as possible.
The publication of these images has thrilled royal followers by offering a sincere and human glimpse into the sisters’ lives, beyond protocol.
